Imagine being able to take detailed, marked-up notes as you watch and learn each segment. No more sticky tabs on your monitor. No more hunting for a pen and paper to take notes. It's private, so feel free to be as silly as you want. (see example image below)

- Use a familiar tool bar (Word, Gmail, etc.) to make your notes personal and easy to read. There is even a print button for easy printing.
- Create links to sites that helped you address your specific problems.
- Make lists of the steps you took so that you never have to rely on your own memory ;-)
- See exactly when your notes were saved last so that you don't accidentally loose valuable information.

Special effects used to be the realm of George Lucas and Star Wars but now you too can add excitement to your videos by learning to use the effects Movie Studio has to offer. In this tutorial, Josh demonstrates how to apply a transition effect between two clips, then how to add an effect to a clip to make it look like an old movie, and finally how to create fast motion and slow motion clips.
-
The blue X between two clips represents the area that they overlap. This will be the area that is effected by the transition you choose. The wider the X the longer the transition will be.
-
Each transition can be tweaked and changed to your hearts content, but in reality most of the default transitions look great and will work fine. So if you are in a hurry just drop the transition onto the blue X and move on to the next clip.
-
If your clip is too dark, try using the Brightness and Contrast effect to make it brighter and easier to see. If you don't like the overall tint, say it looks too yellow or too blue, use the Color Balance effect to bring the overall color back to a more natural shade.
-
This old film effect can be especially fun to use on video of your children when they play dress-ups with grandmas old clothing in the attic. A piece of classic music underneath really complements the effect.
-
You can change the volume on any clip just by clicking and dragging the bar from the top of the audio clip down.
