Imagine being able to take detailed, marked-up notes as you watch and learn each segment. No more sticky tabs on your monitor. No more hunting for a pen and paper to take notes. It's private, so feel free to be as silly as you want. (see example image below)

- Use a familiar tool bar (Word, Gmail, etc.) to make your notes personal and easy to read. There is even a print button for easy printing.
- Create links to sites that helped you address your specific problems.
- Make lists of the steps you took so that you never have to rely on your own memory ;-)
- See exactly when your notes were saved last so that you don't accidentally loose valuable information.

No video scrapbook would be complete without the photos. Joshua demonstrates how to import your photos into the project media bin inside Vegas Movie Studio. You will learn how to set the default time value for your photos (that means how long they are when you drag them into the timeline). This will be handy when you are putting together a photo slide show. Once your photo is in the time line you can add dissolves and other effects to it just like a piece of video.
-
When creating photo slide shows 3 or 4 seconds are usually plenty of time for each photo. If you want to have a half second dissolve between each photo and you want to see each photo for 3 seconds then set the New Still Image length to 4 seconds. That will give you half a second on each side for the dissolve plus 3 seconds to see the still.
-
To automatically add dissolves between multiple photos click the check box next to the words "Automatically overlap multiple selected media when added" and then chose the "Amount" in seconds for the transition under the "Cut-to-overlap conversion heading. The default setting of one second is a good standard length for a dissolve between to still photos.
-
Upon importing your photos, a thumbnail of each will appear in the Project Media bin.
-
By dragging the edge of your photo you can make it longer or shorter in the time line.
-
Using a dissolve is a great way to make a smooth transition from a photo back to moving video.
