Imagine being able to take detailed, marked-up notes as you watch and learn each segment. No more sticky tabs on your monitor. No more hunting for a pen and paper to take notes. It's private, so feel free to be as silly as you want. (see example image below)

My Notebook Example

  1. Use a familiar tool bar (Word, Gmail, etc.) to make your notes personal and easy to read. There is even a print button for easy printing.
  2. Create links to sites that helped you address your specific problems.
  3. Make lists of the steps you took so that you never have to rely on your own memory ;-)
  4. See exactly when your notes were saved last so that you don't accidentally loose valuable information.
  • Overview

So you've flixified a few videos and now you're ready to make (author) a custom DVD. First Josh demonstrates how to select a prebuilt theme from the themes tab and add your videos to the main menu of the DVD.  Then he shows you how to customize your buttons by changing the button design, text, size, and placement.  He also explains how to change the background of the main menu to match the theme kit you used inside of your video.  Finally he shows how quick and easy it is to burn your custom DVD creation onto a disk.

  • Theme Templates

Sony has included a plethora of themes to choose from.  As with this demonstration, you can start with a prebuilt theme and then make changes until your DVD is exactly like you want it.

  • DVD Length

You can add more than two movies to a DVD.  A good rule of thumb is not to exceed 2 hours of video on a single DVD.  You can probably get up to 4 hours on a DVD but it would have to be very compressed and might show a reduction in the quality of the video, especially in scenes with lots of action and movement.

  • Overlapping Buttons

Be careful not to place one button over the top of another, it can make navigation using a standard DVD remote control very confusing.

  • Consistent Theme

Using background paper and other elements from your theme kits is the perfect way to author your DVD to look uniquely yours and also match the look and feel of the video scrapbooks you have created.
